‘Peter’s Gold’® Wins Platinum at Gardeners World 2024

We are proud to announce that Apple ‘Peter’s Gold’® has been awarded the Platinum Award in the Edibles category of The Peter Seabrook New Plants Award at Gardeners World Live 2024. This prestigious award recognises our commitment to excellence in horticulture and our dedication to producing top-quality fruit varieties. Cornus kousa ‘Mandarin Jewel’® has been awarded bronze.

In addition to ‘Peter’s Gold’® outstanding achievement, Cornus kousa ‘Mandarin Jewel’® was honoured with a Bronze Award in the Shrubs and Hardy Plants category. This accolade highlights our efforts to introduce unique and hardy plants that enhance gardens and landscapes across the UK.

Apple ‘Peter’s Gold’®:

Found on a roadside by the late Peter Seabrook, Peter’s Gold is an exceptional apple noted for its yellow/green colour and golden blush. It picks late and stores excellently through the winter. Its flesh is delicious, sweet and juicy with an excellent crunch. We have released it in honour of Peter, its discoverer and a dear friend of the nursery.

Cornus ‘Mandarin Jewel’®:

Cornus kousa ‘Mandarin Jewel’® is a stunning ornamental tree featuring star-shaped white flowers in late spring and unique mandarin-orange fruit in autumn. Its lush green foliage transforms into vibrant red and purple hues in fall, making it a striking addition to any garden, perfect for year-round interest.

The Peter Seabrook New Plants Award celebrates the best in horticultural innovation and quality. We are honoured to be recognised alongside other exceptional plants, including the overall winner, Hydrangea ‘Eclipse,’ introduced by Allensmore Nurseries.
